I find it amusing when internship postings say that their job is "eligible for college credit." That's not their decision, it's ours, at least at our School.
I'd have to agree with you. A better way of phrasing it would be: We will work with your school to ensure that you receive college credit for the internship.
I think students don't understand some of the difficult situations they'll be faced with if an agency isn't as committed to getting them credit as the student is themselves.
Also, if agencies aren't offering compensation they should at least inform the interns exactly what they'll learn while being there. It may take a little more time to write up the job-description, but conveying the WIFMs is vital if these unpaid internships want quality students.
